June’s FLY OF THE MONTH: SALMON FLY

With salmon flies in full force, it has to be the fly of the month. Fishing the South Fork of the Boise River with a salmon fly right now is king. The fish are keyed into them all day. Having a fish smack that huge fly off the surface is awesome. Flows on the river remain around 300 CFS… perfectly wadable. Go with a verity of salmon flies to find what the fish are in the mood for. We, of course, prefer the chubby salmon fly. This simple patter has proven itself while other more elaborate lattes have failed. Happy Fishing.
