Boron
IIx rods have redefined the fast-action
category. A common flaw in most
fast-action designs is a lack
of casting range; the rods are
often hard to load at short distances
and even at longer range can be
clumsy due to overly stiff butt
sections. The Boron IIx series
has changed everything. These
are responsive, powerful, highly
accurate fly rods that perform
across a wide casting range; they
load easily for gentle presentations
up close, yet can also make very
long, pinpoint casts of 100 feet.
To date, across the board, Boron
IIx rods (as well as Boron IIt
rods) are the lightest in the
industry. This makes for pleasant,
all-day casting, even with the
10 and 12-weight.

Innovation
meets tradition. The Boron IIt
series proves that advanced
boron technology can be utilized
to create exceptional medium-action
fly rods. With this series,
R.L. Winston has moved its proven
second generation boron in a
whole new direction, with extraordinarily
lightweight rods that combine
the powerful, highly responsive
characteristics of Boron II
with the legendary smoothness
and delicacy of its more traditional
action rods. R.L. Winston fully
recognizes that many people
enjoy fishing for trout with
medium-action rods. The new
Boron IIt is a true breakthrough
for such anglers.

These
are the same rods as the IM6’s
that you’ve known and
loved over the years. Only the
name has changed. These rods
are built one at a time in Twin
Bridges, Montana. With unique
progressive tapers, soft tips,
and the ‘Classic Winston’
action, these rods are ideal
for del-icate presentations
using light tippets. An uncompromising
standard of workmanship makes
these, and all Winston rods,
not only a delight to fish,
but also to own.

Winston’s
five piece rods are built with
a higher modulus LT graphite,
giving the rods a slightly faster
action than the WT graphite
rods. With Winston’s smooth
action and soft tip, these rods
will per-form as well as any
two or three piece rod, and
fit in your suitcase for traveling.
