For
discerning anglers and technical
fishing, these unique weight forward
and double tapers are designed
for trout fishing, especially
dry fly fishing. Both the weight
forward and double taper lines
have long front tapers for delicate
presentations and an extended
rear taper for effortless roll
casting. The Selective Trout line
is good on bamboo and all medium
action trout rods. RIO has slightly
increased the weight behind the
front taper of the double taper
for easy turnover of long leaders.
The Selective Trout line is ultra
supple and memory-free in winter.
The AgentX coating makes these
high floating lines incredibly
easy to lift quietly off the water.
The Super Floatation Tips have
a welded loop except on the Double
Taper lines and the WF1F and WF2F
lines where delicacy is of the
utmost importance.

The
RIO Grand, made with state-of-the-art
fly line technology, is an all-around
line with distinctive benefits
for the trout fly fisher. The
weight forward taper is one half
size heavier to load fast action
fly rods. The unique taper design
features a long rear taper that
roll casts easily and a front
taper that will delicately present
even the smallest dry fly. AgentX
Technology gives the RIO Grand
maximum floatation. The line remains
supple in coldwater conditions
and is ultra smooth for maximum
casting distance. The Super Floatation
Tip has a welded loop for changing
leaders. Tests prove that when
you land a fish, the loop slides
through the rod guides more easily
than the customary nail knot.

A
must-have line for the serious
lake angler. Castability has always
been a problem with clear intermediate
sinking lines because there are
no lubricants in the coating and
the lines drag through the guides.
RIO has solved the problem by
incorporating proprietary lubricants
into the running line coating
that make the line slick. The
running line is translucent green
while the head is completely clear.
With an intermediate sinking rate
of 1.5 – 2.0 inches per
second (3.7 cm/s), the line is
perfect for fishing subsurface
and shallow shore lines. Ideal
when stealth is required for wary,
selective fish. Made on a low
memory supple monofilament core
with a coldwater coating and welded
loop on the front end.

|
|
A
series of sinking lines that feature
an increase in density at the
front to ensure the line sinks
tip first - aiding in bite detection
and in setting the hook. These
lines are made on a supple core
for memory free performance and
have a super smooth, tungsten
impregnated coating that makes
distance casting easy. An
essential line for the serious
lake fly fisher. The WF4S and
WF5S, Type 6 lines are made on
a Powerflex core.

Coldwater
Clouser™ Fly Line
Casting heavy or wind-resistant
flies has always been a challenge,
even for good casters. Jim Vincent
and Simon Gawesworth collaborated
with Bob Clouser in developing
the Clouser line. Bob is the famed
fly tier, guide, instructor and
conservationist best known for
inventing the Clouser Minnow,
one of the most versatile flies
for both fresh and saltwater.
The Clouser line, with its unique
reverse compound taper and a bullet
front taper, turns over heavy
flies into the wind without effort
and smoothly transfers energy
to prevent the characteristic
“kick” with heavily
weighted flies. The Clouser line
includes the RIO proprietary welded
loop on the tip for quick leader
changes.

Steelhead
& Atlantic Salmon Fly Line
Tapered weight forward floating
design made for the specific casting
demands of steelhead and Atlantic
salmon fly fishing-also a fantastic
nymphing line with a strike indicator.
The long belly and back taper
were developed for roll or overhead
casting and single-handed spey
casting. A bullet front taper
helps deliver bombers and other
large flies. This line works well
with a greaseline or waking fly
technique. RIO's state-of-the-art
computer-driven fly line technology
allows us to taper the rear belly
with slightly more diameter. This
creates weight in order to load
the rod butt for casting performance
and durability in this critical
area. Coldwater coating on a multifilament
core.

Evolved
from the WindCutter fly line design,
the VersiTip has the RIO non-hinging
welded loop design and five interchangeable
tips. The smooth, slim welded
loops will not foul the guides.
Unlike other sink tips, this line
is designed witha thick belly
to turn over dense sinking tips.
Attach either the Clouser taper
floating tip or one of the four
sinking tips directly to the body.

|
|
Superb all-around line for the
anadromous fly fisher. Set up
one reel with this line and be
ready to adapt to most fishing
conditions instead of purchasing
four different reels and four
different lines!

|
|
The
Tropical VersiTip is a superb
choice for the traveling fly fisher
who is not targeting any specific
species and wants to carry a limited
amount of gear.

|
|
The
WindCutter has a short easy loading
head between 45 ft – 56
ft. It is the best choice of line
not only for those learning to
spey cast but also for anglers
that like to shoot line for distance.
The WindCutter is available as
a full floating line or with interchangeable
tips and is yellow with a green
“loading point” that
shows the angler where the rod
has its optimum load. The Interchangeable
Tip line features RIO’s
thin, non-hinging welded loops
and includes a body section, a
floating and an intermediate Tip
2 compensator, a 15 ft (4.6m)
floating, a clear intermediate
(1.5 ips, 4 cm/s), a DC Type 3
(3ips, 8 cm/s), a DC Type 6 (6
ips, 15 cm/s) and a DC Type 8
(8 ips, 20 cm/s) sinking tip.
The WWF 5/6 does not include Tip
2 or a Type 8 tip. The NEW 4/5
is only available as a floating
line.

|
|
The
MidSpey has a medium length head
between 59 ft – 65 ft. Designed
for the spey caster who has mastered
the basic techniques and needs
a longer line that will mend more
effectively, yet is short enough
to load a spey rod easily. The
MidSpey is available as a full
floating line or with interchangeable
tips and is green with a yellow
“loading point”. The
Interchangeable Tip line features
RIO’s thin, non-hinging
welded loops and includes a body
section, a floating and an intermediate
Tip 2 compensator, a 15 ft (4.6m)
floating, a clear intermediate
(1.5 ips, 4 cm/s), a DC Type 3
(3ips, 8 cm/s), a DC Type 6 (6
ips, 15 cm/s) and a DC Type 8
(8 ips, 20 cm/s) sinking tip.

The
all-purpose saltwater line for
bonefish, striped bass or snook
and redfish. Based on the Clouser
taper with a quick loading head
that will turn over big flies
in any wind. This line is made
on a braided multifilament core
for suppleness with a hard tropical
saltwater coating. Ideal for fishing
in cooler conditions. This line
has welded loops on both ends
for easy rigging.

|
|
The
Saltwater CamoTip is the perfect
line for early spring and fall
permit, tarpon or redfish. Based
on the Clouser taper, the quick-loading
head and bullet taper will turn
over big nasty flies in the wind
with ease. The 20 ft dark camo
tip will reduce line flash in
the air. For wary permit or redfish
in shallow water, RIO developed
and tested the new Key Lime/Dark
Camo line on permit, on bright
days and in shallow water, and
found that the Key Lime/Dark Camo
line makes a difference whether
the angler catches fish or not.
The AgentX tropical coating on
a supple multifilament core will
not wilt in warm weather, yet
has low memory in cool weather.
Includes welded loops on both
ends.

|
|
Based
on the same taper as the Coldwater
Clouser fly line for turning over
heavy, bulky flies into the wind
without effort. In addition, for
longer casts, the Tropical Saltwater
line has the Powerflex monofilament
core with a hard, super smooth,
super floating AgentX coating
that will not wilt even in extreme
tropical heat. Includes welded
loops on both ends.

|
|
The
Saltwater Tropical F/I line is
built on a medium stiff Powerfles
core that is extremeley easy to
anneal (stretch). The line features
a flaoting tropical coating with
a 9.5 ft clear intermediate tip
for deeper flats, or on windy
days. Wonderful to cast into a
fifteen-knot breeze. Sounds unbelievable,
but this line will turn over a
12 ft - 15 ft leader in a strong
wind. A 9 ft leader attached to
the clear AquaLux tip gives you
an effective 18 foot leader, which
is stealthy enough for any wary
fish. Your guide can still follow
the fly at this length, while
a totally clear line is really
tough to track.

|
|
The
Saltwater I/I line is a full intermediate
(1.5 ips .7 cm/s) line with a
green tint and a 9.5 ft clear
tip. It is a great line for laid-up
fish that are a little deeper
in the water column or for keeping
in touch with the fly in choppy
water. Based on the Clouser taper
and built on RIO's Powerflex core
with a tropical coating, it is
the perfect full intermediate
line for fishing in warmer climes.
Welded loops on both ends.

|
|
The
perfect line for Tarpon and other
tropical species. This line features
a long back taper for smooth,
controlled casts and is slightly
heavier than the AFTMA standard
to load rods for quick accurate
casts. The floating line features
a tropical AgentX coating combined
with the popular Powerflex core
that will not wilt in the heat.
The F/I line has a 9.5 ft clear
intermediate tip for wary poons
or on windy days. Both lines have
welded loops at both ends for
easy rigging.

|
|
The
floating Tarpon CamoTip line has
a 20 ft dark camo tip that reduces
line flash and won’t spook
wary poons. It’s the choice
of experienced Florida captains
where stealth is required for
laid up tarpon in the back country
or on flat calm summer days. With
a hard tropical AgentX coating
and stiff Powerflex core, this
line will not snag, tangle or
knot in the guides or wilt in
extreme heat. The taper is designed
to cast big flies long distances
with great accuracy and positive
turnover. A welded loop is included
on both ends for fast rigging.
This line is not for wimps.

|

The
demands of bonefishing require
a balance of long and short casts
with precise presentation. RIO’s
Bonefish fly line does just that,
starting with a medium-length
front taper to improve turnover
without sacrificing presentation,
and a slightly longer back taper
to smooth out the casting loop.
The tropical AgentX coating combined
with a Powerflex single-strand
monofilament core results in longer
casts and a line that will not
wilt in most extreme tropical
conditions. With AgentX, the line
floats higher than competitors’
lines, is easier to pick up off
the water, and unlike competing
products the running line will
not sink and tangle while wading.
Includes a welded loop at both
ends for easy rigging.

|
|

A
super-fast sinking fly line with
a smooth tropical coating on a
Powerflex core, with an intermediate
sink running line and a DC 26
ft fast sinking head. Called the
self-casting line, it was designed
by Trey Combs and Jim Vincent
to get down for sailfish and marlin
as well as inshore species in
tropical conditions. Includes
welded loops on both ends.

|
|

RIO’s
Leviathan line is built for big
fish. All lines in this series
are built on a very strong Powerflex
core (60lb to 75lb) to tackle
the behemoths you might encounter.
The heavy head of each line is
designed to load powerful bluewater
rods (#12 to #16) quickly
while the aggressive front taper
casts ultra large flies with ease.
