Join us on one of the following “hosted” trips, and experience great fishing in a group organized by The Idaho Angler and led by one of Idaho Angler’s principals or staff. Trip leaders are available to help you in preparation for the trip, and are with you on the trip to help with tackle, flies, fishing, or anything else you might need.

Hosted trips are an especially good way for the novice to get started in saltwater fly fishing.

Upcoming Trips:

November 23 – December 2, 2007
Situated on the Agua Boa River, a clear water tributary to the Amazon River, Royal Amazon Lodge is a truly classy fishing operation. Peacock bass fishing in clear water, with plenty of large fish. An incredible jungle with wildlife all around you. You’ll never forget the howler monkeys (or the explosive fights of the bass).

January 12th -- January 19th, 2008
Join Tim Mansell, January 12-19th, 2008, for a trip to one of our longtime favorite destinations, Casa Blanca Lodge, Ascension Bay, Mexico. Price is $3225.00. Gratuities, airfare, alcoholic beverages not included. Call Tim for details at 208-389-9957! Casa Blanca is a great fishing destination, with excellent fishing for bonefish, permit, tarpon, and snook. This is a trip we recommend for anglers of all skill levels. The bonefishing can be relatively easy, and is a great way for the beginner to get into saltwater fishing. The permit are always a challenge for even the most skilled angler, a grand slam is a real possibility. The fishing for permit and snook is extraordinary!

Fishing is from modern Dolphin flats skiffs with poling platforms. The guides are excellent, well-trained, and English speaking. There are miles and miles of firm white sand bottomed flats. Bonefishing is either by wading or from poled skiffs. The tarpon, snook, and permit fishing is generally from poled skiffs.

Casa Blanca Lodge is located on the southern edge of Ascension Bay, in the center of a protected 1.5 million acre Biosphere Reserve. There are several Mayan ruins on the island that are worth visiting. The lodge itself is very comfortable and well run. The rooms are large (with hot water showers). The palapa next to the dining room is a wonderful open-air gathering place after fishing, for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and stories.
